Welcome, Connor!

Rafi and I would like to welcome to the world Connor Reed! He is the son of our best friends Tina and Greg. He weighed 6lbs. 13oz. and measured at 19 inches long. I find it hilarious that Tina and Greg (both tall people) had a son that weighed exactly the same but was an inch shorter than our son (and we're short!). He's got Greg's eyes and Tina's mouth and nose.

Sadly Connor's twin sister Kaitlyn Reese passed away in utero right before birth. We all feel her loss and miss her very much. She was a beautiful little girl with a perfect bow mouth.

Tina is doing so well. I think she is one of those "instant mothers" with all the right instincts. And Greg didn't hesitate to jump in there with the diapers! Let's hope he keeps it up, eh? hehe...

I'll leave you with a cute picture of Connor Reed.

Slacking...

Wow, I've really been slacking with my posting! I'll just do a quick update. Mat is doing well. He's really into cars and doing things for himself. He's not that into long car rides, though, as was determined during my recent trip to Stephenville. He repeats most anything you say, so we are having to be more cautious about our conversations now. Grapes are out, but broccoli is back in along with shredded mini-wheats in milk. Takes after his mom on that one. He still sleeps remarkably well and likes to take you places by dragging you by your finger. He's usually good for a kiss or a slobbery "zerbert" on the cheek.

Rafi is still enjoying his new job. It's stressful at times, but he likes working for a passionate company. I'm finally getting into the groove of being a stay at home mom. I really miss my students and work environment though. Last y
ear I volunteered at my school twice a week, but this year the timing of volunteer time coupled with having a toddler who is hard to contain prompted me to sit this year out. I'm having guilty feelings about it, but I know that it won't be long before I'm working again and will be missing my kids.

As previously mentioned, I took Mat with me to Stephenville this week. My mom had some new cabinets built in her kitchen, so it was a good time to purge and organize. I won't tell what the oldest date on a canned food item was, but let's just say you'd be putting your health at risk!

Halloween is quickly creeping up on us. We usually strive to be the most decorated (and scariest) house on the block, but this year we're taking it easy. I'm not sure how we'll decorate, but it won't be extravegant. Instead of our annual Halloween party, we decided to host a Halloween playdate for all Mat's little friends so they can wear their costumes again. I'll be sure to update with some photos of that.

One piece of exciting news is that we're getting a new dishwasher. Feast your eyes on
this bad boy! We decided on the Kenmore Elite line after researching just about every dishwasher under $1500. The Bosch was a close second. Okay, I'm realizing now as I write this that this news is probably only exciting to us, but hey, our dishwasher is over 10 years old!

Guess that about wraps it up! Be sure to check out the new obsessions of the month and get those English candies for yourself. They are wonderful.
